I’m Going on A Retreat and So Should You!
Wellness Retreats Are an Investment Worth Making
It’s ironic how much value our society places on education and professional development, while personal development and self care are considered luxuries. Folks will spend money on a certification, thinking that another credential will open doors to new opportunities, higher income, increased social status… But what if that value came from within. Not from a piece of paper, not from passing a test, but from a deep inner knowing that you are worthy and wonderful just as you are.
You have this one beautiful, amazing life, so why not pour your effort, energy and resources into making it the most fabulous experience possible? I am taking a stand to say that self care and inner work are essential, and that attending a wellness retreat is a worthwhile investment.
Healers Need Healing Too.
There’s this unspoken assumption that if you’re a life coach, you must have it all figured out. That once you’ve done your work, you’re done. That because you hold space for others, you no longer need space held for you.
Let me be the one to tell you: that’s simply not true.
I’m a transformational life coach. I help women rediscover their power, walk through reinvention, and build a life they’re wildly in love with. And part of why I’m so good at it? Because I’m in it too. I walk the walk. I do the work. And I never stop doing it—because life is not a one-time fix.
As a retreat host I get to see the value from both sides. When I am leading retreats and holding space for my clients, I guide them to discover clarity and confidence. When I am attending wellness retreats, I get to fill my cup, I get to do my inner work, I get to expand and grow,
Coaching is not a checkbox.
Healing is not a destination.
Investing in yourself is not a luxury. It’s a necessity.
Why I’m Going on A Wellness Retreat
I’m taking five days completely offline to attend a retreat. No emails, no messages, no cooking or cleaning or planning—just space. Space to reset, reflect, and refuel.
Yes, I love what I do. Coaching lights me up. But it also requires that I show up fully—mind, body, and soul—for my clients. And I can’t do that if I’m running on fumes.
So I’m stepping away for a few days. I’ll be sleeping in my tent (which I adore), spending time in nature, doing yoga, paddle boarding, receiving bodywork, and participating in sacred ceremonies and deep thought work. I’m looking forward to being held in a safe container with others who are also doing this work. People who understand the value of personal growth and the courage it takes to dive in.
What Investing in Yourself Looks Like
Sometimes “investing in yourself” gets tossed around like it’s a bubble bath and a glass of wine. But it’s so much more than that.
Investing in yourself means carving out time.
It means spending money on your growth.
It means choosing nourishment—physical, emotional, spiritual—every single day.
And for me, that looks like:
Getting up early to start my day with intention.
Choosing foods that support my energy and clarity.
Moving my body in ways that feel aligned, not forced.
Being mindful about what I consume—not just what I eat, but what I watch, what I listen to, and what I surround myself with.
Saying no to things that drain me, even if they’re “supposed to” be fun.
Saying yes to experiences that stretch me, even if they’re uncomfortable.
And yes—taking time offline, going to retreats, and working with my own coaches.
Because coaching isn’t something I give… it’s something I live.
Life Coaching Is a Lifelong Journey
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: this is your one life. You don’t get a do-over. This is it. And if you’re not pouring into yourself, who will?
Life coaching is a lifelong project. You don’t just read a book or attend a workshop and then declare yourself “healed.” You don’t finish your program and walk off into the sunset never needing support again. Growth happens in layers. In seasons. In spirals.
And every single time I go inward and do my own work, I emerge with more compassion, more clarity, and more confidence. That’s what makes me a better coach. A better human.
Because you can’t take someone somewhere you haven’t been. And if I want to guide my clients to deeper breakthroughs, I need to be willing to go there myself.
Everyone Can Benefit from a Coach
One of the most important decisions I made early in my business was to invest in coaching. And I still do. I’ve worked with multiple coaches—some business-focused, some deeply spiritual, some somatic, some strategy-based.
Why? Because I know I have blind spots. We all do.
Because I want to grow.
Because I want to be in rooms where the standard is excellence, alignment, and authenticity.
And because if I expect others to invest in working with me, I better be willing to invest in working on me.
If you’re a coach, healer, or service provider—please don’t buy into the lie that you need to be “done” before you can help others. We’re never done. We’re always evolving. And your willingness to keep evolving is exactly what makes you magnetic.
The Power of Community
Doing your work alone is powerful. But doing it in community? That’s where the magic happens.
When you’re surrounded by others who are on the same path, something shifts. You see yourself in their stories. You feel less alone. You soften. You open. You remember that healing is a collective act.
At this retreat, I’m not just looking forward to being guided. I’m also looking forward to witnessing others. Because there’s something sacred about holding space for someone else’s transformation—without needing to fix, solve, or save.
It’s a mirror. It’s a reminder. It’s a return to what matters.
You’re Worth the Investment
If you’ve been putting off your own healing because of time, money, fear, or guilt—I want to gently call you in.
You get one life.
You deserve to feel alive in it.
And the truth is: you’re not behind. You’re just one decision away from change.
Whether it’s booking that session, taking that course, joining that group, or giving yourself permission to rest—your future self is already thanking you.
You are not selfish for prioritizing yourself.
You are not flaky for needing rest.
You are not broken because you still have work to do.
You’re a Goddess in progress. And progress is sacred.
Retreats Help You Connect
At the end of the month I’ll be offline. Recharging. Reconnecting with myself. Filling my cup.
And I hope it inspires you to do the same—whatever that looks like for you.
You don’t need to earn rest.
You don’t need to justify healing.
And you don’t need to do it all alone.
So here’s your permission slip: invest in yourself.
Today, tomorrow, and always.
Because you’re worth it.
Because your dreams matter.
Because the life you want starts now.
PS Save the date! I’m hosting a retreat in Sun Peaks October 3-5, 2025
